Sandhill Crane in Flight
South-central Nebraska

With first light the Cranes start to leave their roost on the river to move to farm fields in the surrounding area to feed. From a point about a quarter of a mile south of the Platte River, I photographed a constant flow of thousands of Cranes as they flew over.
