Sandhill Cranes in Farm Field

During much of the day, the Cranes feed in farm fields. Each year they consume tons of grain, which fell to the ground during the prior year's harvest. I've heard that this benefits the farmers by not having these kernels sprout in the spring and they also aerate the soil.
